This program covers a variety of democracy-related media which, inter alia, include: - Production of Radio and TV programs that provide information about national, state, and local political, social, and economic policies.
- It shall publish and produce a newsletter, a newspaper, a magazine, and a journal on issues about democracy, democratic governance, elections, electoral laws, legislative process, rules, regulations, law and constitutional reforms, and procedures.
- E-Communications: maintaining of a web site and e-mail address and obtaining information from other media and the internet.
- Establishment of a resource center, wherein a cluster of information about democracy, political governance, elections and electoral systems, legislative processes, and human rights issues are kept for the benefit of the public.
- Publication and production of literature in local languages.
In addition to these functions, this program is the political information and monitoring service of SSIDP, focusing on supporting and promoting good governance in South Sudan, through building of civic society and government for democracy. This is done through training, seminars, workshops, conferences, and meetings.
The program monitors the legislative and executive processes, including any other elections, referendum or census. It researches public policy and disseminates meaningful information generated by these activities to civil society and other audiences.
The Information and Media (IAM) program is currently headed by SSIDP Board Member Mr. Josef Scarantino.
